Description
Quite possibly my favorite photo from this little shoot. Or maybe just my personal best photo. Not sure. But I like this one a lot.
One reason why I like it: I felt really smart shooting it. (hah! who am i kidding?) Anyway, I decreased aperture to somewhere between f/16 and f/22. And shutter speed from 1 second to 1/10second. After I felt that I mastered the blur, I wanted to fine tune things. I had my 18-55mm lens on. Seeing how at 18mm, the background objects appear very small, I took about 10 steps back, and took the same shot at 55mm (or somewhere near there) and got this shot, with the waterfall appearing bigger.
A bit of stats
Pentax *ist DL
Pentax smc-DA 18-55mm
Hoya circular polarizer
Converted from RAW
Curves edited slightly in GIMP
Shot right in the middle of the lower region of the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas. Name of waterfall: Falling Water Falls.
